Locking Front UPVC Double Glazed Door and Leaving Keys in Inside Lock?

by collectors » Fri Jul 10, 2015 1:02 pm

Hi, I have a UPVC D/G front door that has to be locked after you shut it. Now may sound a daft Question, but I have 2 lodgers and if one comes home and locks the door from the inside to stop people walking in and leaves his key in the inside lock the 2nd lodger can’t get in using his key from the outside. Is this normal??

Thanks

Chris

Hello

I'm afraid that is normal for most locks. The problem is you can't actually fit 2 keys into the same cylinder at the same time, there just isn't room.

Best bet is to make sure to remember to remove the key when locking.

Hope this helps
