Vibrating water pipes

by damian » Wed Aug 08, 2007 3:55 pm

Hi,
I have a Worcester 24i combi boiler feeding my radiators and also my hot water pipes.
I have a strange problem that when my next door neighbour flushes their toilet, my water pipes vibrate for about 20 seconds while their toilet is filling up!
I asked them if they could restrict their flushing to once a day but they were having none of that
As far as I know, they don't hear a thing so can anyone help me track down and fix this problem?
I'm the first house on the street so I'm wondering if it is my water pressure that's too high? Should I try turning my stopcock down a bit or would that be a waste of time?
The only other piece of info I can give is when I disconnected the water pipes from the boiler (but left the central heating pipes attached) the noise didn't happen.

It's a weird one that's driving me mad so if anyone can help I'd be really grateful!

Thanks for your help.
Regards,

Damian
