Hello to the forum. Am forking out to have a small bathroom done. The guys doing it just said to me I should paint the new plasterboard that they've put up on the ceiling rather than them skimming it which I understood to be in the original estimate. I guess it costs to get a good plasterer in for a small job but wouldn't a skim be superior in terms of the finish (harder wearing, smoother, more fire resistant etc). Or am out of date in terms of modern tapes and lining paper that ?might be as good in a bathroom? Thanks
