We have a double garage that was painted inside years ago and it's now badly flaking. We know from testing that it contains lead and everywhere on the web it says lead paint should only be removed using a wet removal method. We have tried sandpapering a tiny bit and the dust is so fine it almost hangs in the air yet every decorator we have had to give an estimate wants to remove it dry. They don't seem to care about the lead. Has anyone any advice?
The best thing would be if we could remove all the paint back to the brick then it wouldn't need repainting but as the surface is very uneven that seems unlikely.
Thanks.
