Internal Wall Insulation Type to use for Internal Wall Going up Two Floors

by joey remains » Wed Mar 02, 2016 8:40 pm

HI

I have an internal wall that goes up two floors that opens straight into the cold loft. The loft is insulated but the large gap at the top of the wall isnt.

I presume that this whole wall space should be insulated but have no idea what or who to ask about it.

I think the walls are where the previous owner removed the chimney and covered the hole and whole wall with a false wall. It is at least several inches wide at the top.

Is this a simple cavity wall job. All the info I seem to find is about external wall cavity filling.

thanks joey remains

you can buy insulation for the gap, its made from sheeps wool, comes in a roll, easy to install, just cut it a fill the gap

On inspection of the top of the gap I cannot access it easily.
There is timber and a new cross beam blocking the way.
I might be able to get a hose around it though

Should look into cavity wall filling? It sounds expensive.
