Wet or Dry Rot in Roof Joist and Help Needed with Identification

by v76man2012 » Thu Apr 07, 2016 7:20 pm

Hi

can anyone advice me as to what they believe this could be?? the wood is hard in texture and does not crumble when pressed, the whole of the joist, including the white part, has the same feel and texture. We don't know if it has become wet and has since dried or may be previously treated?

any advice?

thank you

Hard to see, but could well be Dry Rot. We have a project on how to diagnose dry rot which I would recommend you use to be sure:
