I've never used them but have heard mixed comments, Some people say they're brilliant and quick to install. But one person had his brand new apartment flooded because a fitting popped off on the mains cold water supply. Even the majority of large companies on new builds now use plastic or copper pipe and push fit fittings.
I don't use them because i'm a time served plumber and copper pipe, capillary fittings and bending copper pipe is the best way, I only think this because plumbing is a trade and I had to serve a 4 year apprenticeship, anyone can cut and push together two bits of copper or plastic.
Sorry for the rant, Pushfit is ideal for DIY but make sure you get the fitting to snap on properly, a good tug on the fitting should ensure its on correctly.
