I am renovating a terraced house, probably built around 1910.
I have had the whole house re-plastered and appears to have dried out. The plasterers removed some old plasterboard where the downstairs fireplace was and replaced it. It should be said there was an old rusty flexible flue in there. I painted the chimney breast wall magnolia but 2 areas either side of the old fire place haven't dried. Also in the corner alcove next to the chimney hasn't dried. I've also noticed that the socket back boxes are rusty. There is no damp on the upstairs chimney breast and the wall is an adjoining wall to next door.
Any responses will be most appreciated.
