Shower Door Roller Issue on Quadrant Shower Enclosure

by Laurence86 » Thu May 26, 2016 9:51 am

Hi,

I'm a bit of a DIY newbie and would like some advice on shower door rollers.

I have a quadrant shower enclosure (curved doors) and on one of the cam wheel rollers at the bottom, the wheel has come loose causing the roller to slightly grind on the track. I've had a problem with one wheel before and bought and fitted a replacement when the small bearings inside the wheel disintegrated (causing wheel to come loose) - got that problem sorted.

Now it seems that the replacement wheel is not screwing properly into the roller and keeps falling off. I think I may need to replace the whole roller.

I've attached a photo to show you the type, and my questions are:

1) how is the roller attached to the glass? The curved silver cap bits don't want to budge so its not clear - might be glued on, might be screwed - is screwed on more typical? Any tips for taking off...

2) can anyone work out what type of roller this is - I can't find an exact likeliness online, no matter how hard I google.

Many thanks
