Wiring for Replacement Cord Pull Advice Required

by karlwatto » Sat Nov 05, 2016 3:15 pm

I'm replacing two cord pulls for extractor fans.

The old cord pull has four electric terminals, however, the replacement only has 3.

Original cord pull connections:
Old cord pull
Old cord pull

Black and red wires go into both IN terminals and the right hand terminals.

New cord pull connections:
New cord pull
New cord pull

How do I wire up the new cord pull?

Cheers

Karl

Difficult to see if you have two red cores in the first picture.
I will assume you have!
The existing pull cord is a double pole switch, meaning it isolates/switches both line and neutral conductors.

The new one you have, is single pole only, to copy the existing wiring you require a double pole switch.
