Help needed.

by andrewsteven » Sun Aug 19, 2007 3:28 pm

Have had a problem now with my domestic hot water supply. We have 24hr hot water even though we have the heater turned off. Our bills are astronomical. Attempted to set the supply on the timer but that has made no difference, we still have boiling water 24hrs a day.
Not sure what I'm missing. Worried now, as I've noticed a small ripple in my wooden flooring. Wondering if it's all connected.

What heater have you turned off ?

the boiler or immersion heater ?

Whats the tank stat (if there is one) set to ?

Is the water dis-coloured at all ?

is it a fully pumped system, or gravity hot water ? what type of boiler ?

Hi, thanks for replying...

Sorry, the only thing that we turned off was the timer for the hot water but regardless of what setting we have it on, (continuous on/off or on timer), it makes no difference, we still have constant hot water.

I'm not sure where to turn the heater off, if we can or not to see if that makes a difference.

The water is not discoloured in any way.

The system is fully pumped.

With regards to the tank stat, i'm not sure what that is, I'm afraid or where I should look for it.
