Hot Water Tank not Filling After Replacing Inlet Valve to Cold Tank

by Kazide » Sun Mar 12, 2017 9:22 pm

Hi,
I replaced the inlet valve to the cold water tank in the loft after a leak today but am now not getting any hot water from any taps. I suspected an air lock so back filled from a mixer tap in the bathroom only to hear that the water was flowing into the hot tank, which was pretty much empty. As far as I can work out no water is making its way to the hot tank from the cold tank. I checked for blockages but nothing apparent. I completely stumped on this. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ditto with the post above. But i have also had it with airlocks from the cold water tank down to the hot tank & had to get a garden hose connected to the mains & put it into the pipe at the bottom of the cold tank that feeds the hot tank & turn the hose on for a few seconds to clear the airlock..
