Hi
I have a driveway built with concrete slabs to the side of my house, sloping towards my back garden. There is a ~10mm gap between the driveway and the wall of my house all the way.
I'm not sure if this was because the sealing material has worn away or is the gap there by design (to allow expansion/contraction, or breathing?).
A builder who came round the other day was trying to persuade me to redo my driveway, which has some cracks, and said he can seal those gaps for me. He said if I don't seal it water will get into the foundation and eventually damage it.
Is this true?
Regards
Charles
