Shower Ceiling Problem With Paint Cracking due to Steam

by Samps1973 » Thu Jun 29, 2017 10:04 pm

Hi all,

I'm having trouble with my shower ceiling.

My shower is tiled on all 3 walls apart from the ceiling which is angled about 45 degrees. Because of the steam from the shower, the paint cracks and flakes off, I bought some expensive waterproof paint, it cost £25 for a small tin but I'm still getting the problem. I looked at getting some pvc cladding but on the bottom edge, it's got a bend that leads to the tiles and the cladding is solid, if that makes sense :)

My question is, what is best to use to seal it or paint it? to stop the flaking. I'm trying to find a long term solution, but cheapish.

Thanks in advance for any help
