Lining Up Drilling Holes In Wall For Heavy Duty Shelving Brackets General problems, solutions, information and advice on fixing to walls of all kinds

I have a pair of heavy duty shelf brackets to fix into a plastered brick wall. I'd like to know the best way to drill the holes.So they don't go out of alignment and the shelf ends up being skewiff.
I have a quite heavy quite powerful variable speed drill and a lighter one. I'm using 10mm wall bolts as the heavy duty fixings.

Place one bracket first. Offer it up and mark the wall. Drill the first hole dead centre with the smallest masonry bit you have working up to 10mm over 3 or 4 bits slow and steady wins the race. A second pair of hands will certainly help but isn't needed. Once you have one bracket up place the next one with the shelf on top and make sure its level.
Mark up and follow the same procedure.
10mm fixings are pretty big. It'll hold a lot of weight
