New Safestyle Windows Noisier Than the old Windows

by Calder7 » Tue Aug 08, 2017 9:10 am

Had new windows fitted . Salesman said new windows would block noise out . They are noisier than the old windows . On the inside the gap between the frame and the window is about 10 mm and has been filled in . The frame itself is about 15mm wide and the old windows were fitted behind the frame so there was no gap . I think the windows have been measured wrong and are a bad fit . There was no need for filler in the old windows because there was no gap .
An ill fitting unit will never block out noise . I think I should ask them to replace these window units with the correct size . These new window units are 1330 mm width , the old ones were about 1370 width , I think this is why it is noisier . Any advice . Thank you
