Wiring 2 lights to 2 x two way switches.

by mikeym » Tue Aug 28, 2007 6:30 pm

Help please.
This ones foxed me for the last two days. Registered on this site today hoping someone can help. This is my first posting. Tried earlier today but for some reason my plea wasnt posted.
I`ve taken down the dividing wall between two bedrooms to make one room and now I want to wire a 2 way/gang? switch at each end of the room so each light can be operated from either switch.
The original cables are still in place in conduit down walls to original single switches and running to where the lights are. These each have a single black core, which is the live switched one, connected to the LT Terminal with a single red going to the COM terminal.
Looked on the projects page and I cant find anything that helps me in terms I can understand. (I`m afraid I get bogged down easily, won`t give my age away)
Can anyone tell me in laymans terms please how to wire this up?
Any advice welcomed.
Thanks
Mike

mikeym, have already answered this on your other posting which did come up, it does sometimes take a while for a moderator to get to OK each post, there are lots to see every day so please be patient as they do keep out the dubious ones and make this one of the best forums around, regards SPARX

you need to understand how a two way light works first. then, if you think it out logically, you wont need advice. Its just about understanding the flow of the electricity. I think they have circuit diagrams on here
