Removing Shroud to Replace Mixer Tap Valve

Hi folks, I hoping you can help me.

I am trying to replace my leaking mixer tap but I cannot remove the shroud covering the valve.

I have tried twisting, pulling, pushing but no movement.
There are no grub screws at the back.

Any suggestions would be appreicated
