The existing paint is an eggshell on plaster , the plaster covers a lime mortared granite wall . It is very old ... the eggshell paint had bubbled and sanding it down made it peel off . It seems a mist had been used prior to painting but everything is cleanly peeling off . Now i am going to have to strip the whole room but when i come to repaint do i still use an Eggshell or would a propriotory Acryllic vinly for kitchens be just as good and possible better at being breathable .
The walls are in a castle kitchen and yes we have damp due to the lime pulling up water .
