Shed Base and Permanent Edging Boards?

by 3narf » Fri Jan 25, 2019 9:44 am

Hello all,

I'm in a newbuild house and commenced building a shed base last week - I know, it's the wrong time of year but it needed to be done.

I dug out the turf, built substantial shuttering and got the builders to fill it with aggregate and concrete, but on removing the shuttering yesterday it's apparent it's not set sufficiently. I broke off a corner and it looks pretty rough (it projects about 2-3" above lawn level.

As I have some proper pathway edging planks (2x8) from the green area feature they're building, could I use these as permanent edging for the shed base? They'll probably rot eventually, but I could replace them at that time I suppose. I could even weatherproof them.

Anyway, I appreciate any advice! I'm not redoing the concrete.
