Newbie here so please be gentle!
We have a whole house pump supplying 3 bar and 50 lpm. The main feed pipe from this pump into and then throughout the house (incl supply to/from HWC) are 22mm, with current supplies all teed off in 15mm along the central feed lines.
We are about to rip out the old mixer shower and refit in a 'industrial look' so using exposed copper pipes and valves and NOT using a traditional off-the-shelf shower mixer unit.
My main question is: is there an advantage in terms of shower experience in using 22mm pipe all the way to the shower head? We're aiming for a deluge/drenching shower, rather than a forceful one.
My second question is all the shower heads I have looked at have a ½" connection (so around the 15mm) - so would this then defeat the point of better flow rates using 22mm pipes if it all gets 'pinched/restricted' at the entry to the shower head?
Thanks in advance - I hope this isn't numpty territory!
