new shower - electric or mixer?

by epetti10 » Tue Sep 04, 2007 11:59 am

Hi,

we are looking to install a shower into our bathroom as there is not one at the moment. we have no idea what we are looking at and dont know what we can get with certain heating systems etc..

Basically we are looking for a powerful shower but not a power shower and i read that generally mixer showers are more powerful than electric. I dont really want to get an electric shower as we looked into and it was going to cost a lot to get the electrics put in place as our mains is downstairs and would have to pull electrics up into loft and then down into bathroom.
We have electric storage heating, and to be honest not sure what that really means! can u tell i have just left home?!

Basically the plumber we had out to look at possibly fitting shower said our cold water was from mains and the hot water came from the hot water tank, as its only 2 of us, we never run out of hot water due to the storage heating, do u think mixer showers are a feasible option for us? and what work would this involve?

thanks! (im not usually this blonde! :D
