Laying Laminate on Floorboards but Should I Board Over First?

by lg4445 » Fri Aug 09, 2019 8:28 pm

Hello all,

I am looking to put down some laminate flooring. It will be going on wooden floorboards. Over the years, it’s clear that some floorboards have been replaced for various reasons.

Would it be right that I should 12mm hardboard it first, then i’m not sure what kind of underlay should I be looking at to put on top before the 12mm Laminate.

Thank you,
Lee

It is attainable to shop for connected underlay and damp-proof layer, providing you with just one layer to put rather than 2. If you're progressing to lay laminate over recent picket floorboards, it's a realistic plan to line the ground with the board.
