Integrated Fridge Ventilation in Small Kitchen

by katmayhan » Tue Feb 25, 2020 1:35 pm

I am installing an integrated fridge in a *tiny* kitchen, and so would really like to put it above the washing machine. I can build it up so that it sits on 150 joists above the washing machine, and line the underside of the joists with foil backed plasterboard so that the washing machine doesn't heat up the void. The main question I have is - the fridge vents are covered by the door, as per this image - https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/images/a ... reezer.jpg

Is this likely to cause problems?

Ventilation is important for efficient running of the fridge. Also poor ventilation increases the risk of a fridge overheating and catching fire.
First though, are you intending to stand the fridge on the washing machine? Beware of vibration.
