Footing for self build deck with a summer house on

by Nathanp08 » Sun May 10, 2020 9:19 pm

I’m building a deck in my garden right at the very back of my garden spanning the full width. It will be 2.49m meters on the left 4.98m on the right. Front will span 11.6m with the back 11.86m. I’ve planned a lot of it out but I’m just unsure about the footing. I’ve been told by a tradesman put a 4in by 4in every 400mm going 1ft deep. My thought is I’d have to do a hell of a lot of posts for that. Surely it would be better having bigger posts that go deeper and have less of them? I’ve attached and image of my drawings
