I want to make my own bath panel. I was thinking of maybe tiling it. I would need to use a backing that is waterproof.

Any suggestions would be helpful (please).

Suggest you use marine ply and coat it with polyeuthane varnish on all sides before you tile it. Score the side you will be tiling before you varnish it to aid adhesion.
