Shower waste pipe replacement in loft conversion

by Phil909221 » Wed Oct 07, 2020 2:26 pm

I'm replacing a shower tray and I've discovered that the waste pipe runs approximately 25cm below the floor (it's a loft conversion with a deep cavity between the old ceiling and the new floor). The previous solution was a 90deg bend pointing straight down from the waste, a length of vertical pipe, and then another 90deg bend to connect to the horizontal pipe. Is this an acceptable/sensible solution? I think a gradual fall is preferred but there's limited space between the joists.

Hi phil909221
There should not be any problems repeating the original. Do support the lower 90 bend so as to maintain falls on the horizontal pipe.
