Old lead pipe but will it have water in it?

Hi

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

I found this pipe (image hopefully attached) underneath my kitchen sink next to an external wall. The kitchen is at the rear of an 1890s two-up/two-down. I've dug down a few inches and so far this pipe just goes straight down. The concrete around has put me off immediately exploring any further.

I'm pretty sure all my water comes in via a pipe at the front of the house.

Do you think it's likely to have water in it? The attached copper tap is too corroded to open. Is it likely to be connected to the new mains supply? Or could it be an old supply that's no longer in use?

thanks!

Hi herewego
Very likely that it is dead but could be messy if it's not. Spray the valve with wd40 and work the T bar with a wrench to slowly free it.
