Sliding upvc doors leaking through screw hole

by Barbie59 » Sun Nov 15, 2020 12:19 pm

Hi all, I am a newbie and hoping to get some help. We moved in back in april and for the past few weeks after it rains water drips from one of the screw placings at top of upvc door frame (outside). Last weekend we noticed a trickle of water all the way from top centre of door which was causing a puddle on living room floor. This morning the water was dripping from the screw again. When I came back inside I noticed water now coming in from the entire top of the door.

Door was fitted in 2015. All seals around it look to be fine with no damage. Lintel above has some cracks but has been sealed on advice from our surveyor so I am at a loss as to how/where this water is coming in and what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi barbie59
If the masonry wall above the doors is exposed ie there is more than 0.5m above then the most likely issue is that no cavity tray is fitted.
