Vent to highway/pavement

by burt12345 » Mon Nov 23, 2020 9:56 pm

Hi,

I'm thinking about installing a Single room heat recovery vent in our basement. I've cured the damp issues with cork insulation and breathable plasters etc, but I need a new vent solution as my existing window vent (just extractor on a timer) will go when we replace the window this week.

So we will have to drill through the wall to fit a proper SRHR, but we've no garden and the outside of that wall is the pavement/highway. The vent I'm looking at has a spigot that will protrude 200mm out from the wall. This will be just below head head height (we dug our basement out a bit).

I'm guessing this will be an issue for the public? I can't raise it any higher as that'll be in our lounge above...

What are my options?

Hi burt12345
You will have to find a different heat recovery extractor - one which has minimal protrusion.

Yeah thanks, I came to that conclusion after finding some other manufacturers.
