Cannot fit olives when fitting new compression Valve

by Helphelphelp » Mon Dec 21, 2020 11:36 am

Apologies for a real basic problem. Trying to fit a new compression valve going into a toilet cistern but I can't fit the olives. The olives go on the pipe ok but I can't get the nuts on... There is probably a 1-2mm gap between the threads. Is this a common problem? Should I try to manhandle it into place? I feel like it should be easier!

Hi helphelphelp
Don’t understand - is it the nuts or the olives?
