Lead Toilet Waste Pipe Replacement

by AshSmith95 » Tue Sep 28, 2021 12:22 pm

I was wondering how I would go about replacing the Lead toilet waste pipe that connects my Toilet to my Cast Iron Soil Stack.
I am currently having my bathroom refit and we have discovered a very small leak where the lead and the cast iron meet. The plumber has told me there is nothing he can do about the waste pipe without changing the soil stack and suggested to clean the connection and cover in silicon.
I find it hard to believe that we cannot remove the lead and attach a new plastic waste pipe to the cast iron.
Please can someone confirm it is possible to replace and if so, how?
Thanks

Hi ashsmith95
If you drill out and remove the existing seal stuff and clean up the CI boss, you should then be able to fit a rubber adaptor to reduce to 110 plastic.
