This is probably a fairly straight forward issue, but I'm an inexperienced DIY-er and I am trying to finish a small kitchen project someone else started.
I've had a new cooker hood installed but the original installer blocked the air channel so instead of sucking air it was actually blowing air into the kitchen.
I've solved this problem but I now have a 150mm hose and a 150mm to 125mm reducer which I somehow need to attach to each other to allow the air to flow outside. The end of the 150mm hose that came with the extractor hood is made of fairly hard and not really bendy plastic. What's the best (and safest) way to attach this hose to the reducer which was already in place as the old cooker hood used this as well? Is it safe to just use some duct tape and make a slight cut/indent in the hard plastic hose to squeeze in into the reducer and then use a metal hose clip to make sure it's attached tightly?
I have attached pictures which hopefully give an idea of what it looks like. As explained I don't do a lot of DIY-ing but I don't think this is a fairly difficult issue to solve. I just want to make sure it's a safe solution and not create a fire hazard or unnecessary risk. Thank you in advance for any suggestions, much appreciated!
