Hi All,
I have a Potterton Suprema 40L gas boiler and a Santon Premier Plus 150 litres water cylinder on the top (3rd) floor.
I am trying to economise on gas bills but have heard that I have to have the boiler on daily in order to kill off bacteria e.g. legionnaire's disease bacteria in the water cylinder. Three questions please:
1) The temperature dial on the Suprema 40L is a knob you can turn between off and max. How far do I need to turn this round in order to be hot enough to kill these bacteria.
2) What is the minimum amount of time I need to heat up the water daily in order to kill off these bacteria.
3) For the purposes of killing off bacteria, is it better to have the water heating up for one longer session in the morning, or to have a morning and afternoon session for half as long.
Thanks.
