Why can't I drill into brick??

by Uselessatdiyhelp » Tue Mar 21, 2023 3:19 pm

Hi all
I'm in need of some help.
I want to drill about 3 1/2 inches into external brick. The bricks have a crinkled exterior, 1950s house
I can drill about 2 inches and no further. Using hammer drill and masonry bit
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong and what I should do.
Thanks for reading and your advice

If you are using a masonary drill try using a low speed.

Hi uselessatdiy,
Chances are that the bricks are fired more in the middle and hence harder. Try using a new masonry bit.
