New building regulations 2022 do they apply to build started 2019

by craig98 » Sun Jun 25, 2023 5:16 pm

Hello, I started my build in 2019. I am only just now getting around to insulation (floor roof). Can I still work to the pre 2022 insulation regs? Help much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi craig98,
If you submitted full details and got BR approval you should be ok meeting 2019 regs, however if you have done the building under the notice method you may well have to comply with the new regs.
The problem is that it may well depend on who you ask - pick carefully or write in asking for a reply so you have written guidance.
Regards S

Stoneyboy, thanks for the reply, I have asked building inspector about the depth of floor insulation I need (i posted this in a panic having found 2022 regs whilst buying insulation) and he is saying 70mm min, so he must be working to pre 2022. So I guess he submitted the full details you mentioned. Again, thanks for your help.
