Unable to clean WC area under water

by Essexmum2015 » Tue Jan 02, 2024 5:20 pm

Hi All,

Happy New Year!

I am unable to clean WC area which is under the water. I live in a block of flats so not sure if I can stop the water.

I believe water is the main reason for not being able to clean it. Is there anyway I can block the water to clean it or any other DIY tips please?

Please find attached photo for reference.

Thanks.

The water is there to stop "sewer gas" coming into your property. The water collects there by design every time you flush the toilet. Living in a block of flats has nothing to do with it.

You have several choices.
Pour a whole bottle of bleach down the toilet before you go to bed, and flush it in the morning, or pour a couple of cans of regular coke-a-cola (Own brand cola does not work as well) down the toilet and flush in the morning.
It depends on what the cause of the staining is as to which will work, don't try both at the same time.
You may have to use a toilet brush just after you flush in the morning.
