Concealed Toilet - Discolored Water

by saki » Thu Dec 05, 2024 11:58 am

Hi,

I got a new concealed cistern toilet a few weeks ago. All seemed fine but last week the water became discoloured about two hours after flushing. It is not backing up and the flush works fine leaving the water clear but after a few hours a light amber colour develops which becomes a deeper amber as time goes on. If there is a blockage I would expect the level to at least increase but it does not. Any suggestions as to cause and fix?

The toilet bowl is the only place you would expect to see water from the "mains" standing in the open for a few hours, so I wonder, fill a glass from the handbasin, leave it to stand for a few hours, what happens? It may be nothing to do with the toilet.

Good idea. I'll do that. Howeever the other toilet in house does not have any problems. I just can't understand why it is not backing up if there is a block.
