Washing Machine Waste

by martynfogg » Sun Dec 16, 2007 9:05 pm

Hello,

I'd like to move my washing machine into my outhouse, but there is no waste plumbed in there.

Is it okay just to run a waste pipe from the washing machine, thorough the wall and out over an open drain (also used for guttering water)?

Many thanks,

Martyn Fogg

No, washing machine waste water must go to the fowl sewer, not surface water sewer.

You could fit the waste as you suggest as long as you use a washing machine trap inside, and the water does go to a foul sewer (Stevenc1603 has assumed because of the gutter that it doesn't - you will have to check).
