ceramic toilet onto ceramic tiles?

by tanyfron » Tue Dec 18, 2007 1:17 pm

Hi, I'm about to install a utility toilet but I'm not too sure weather the pan can sit directly ontoi the ceramic tiles? Should I sandwich something in between or maybe just run some silicone around the base before siteing?
Thanks all
Tim

I do this pretty much every week. You will probably find the base of the toilet is uneven, so after it is fitted just run round with a silicone gun which will fill the gaps and make the installation firm.

The fun bit is drilling the floor tiles to fix it down. For heavens sake don't overtighten the screws otherwise you will be buying a new pan.

Thanks marrtin, just as I thought. Cheers.
