Using 'thinners' with Farrow and Ball paint

by rb250 » Tue Apr 10, 2007 4:07 pm

Hi - please forgive a novice what might be an obvious question, but I'm using Farrow and Ball paint on my interior woodwork & the advice sheet says that their primers should be diluted with 5-20% thinners.

Can anyone tell me what thinners are? Meths, turps, white spirit or a specific product for the job? I don't want to mess up a batch of expensive paint and/or spoil the finished effect.

I'm using their aluminium based primer and oil undercoat.

Thanks.

I would use white spirits for priming bare wood etc, then when u come to undercoat use it neat coz the paint is thin anyway!
