Hello,

I am about to undertake the rather daunting task of replacing my whole bathroom, I have no funds to employ a plumber.

I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good plumbing book with good diagrams to aid me gaining some new skills!

At college we used a book by R Treloar, Can't really remember what the diagrams were like though.

If you really don't have a clue, is it worth attempting it yourself ?

A competent DIYer wouldn't needs books to install a bathroom suite, if it's a straight swap it's only a few pipes would need altering, bath levelling etc etc.

It's possible you could cause more problems and damage - could cost you more than a plumber would charge for installation.

See our project called replacing a bathroom suite. Its better than a book because it really happened. If you dont think you can do it by following this project then please dont attempt it.

Two other thoughts as well.

1. How long do I want to be without a bathroom?

2. How valuable to me is my time?

I am a competent DIYer and a Structural Engineer! So i am fairly confedent that i can undertake the task in hand!

Just wanted to know if anyone had a book that might be handy to have with me, rather than going back and forth to the internet.

I have since read the DIYdoctor changing a bathroom suite and that guidence will probably be enough.

I've just never attempted a whole bathroom!
