hi there,
I have gone through a lead pipe in the garden which runs to a stand pipe, Ive turned it off and want to know the easiest way to reconnect it. Ive lost about a foot of pipe. Any ideas please

Go to a plumber's merchant and explain, and they will sell you a short length of blue poly pipe and two plastic compression adapters that will solve your problem just fine.
