Fitted a new close couple toilet , when the toilet is pushed back against the wall the design of the loo hides all plumbing connnections. i have a puddle now and again showing on the floor. how do find the leak if you cant see any connections ?

there are only three possible places that it can be leaking from (assuming it is a modern close-coupled which overflows into the pan).

These are:
- the cold feed in
- where the cistern sits on the pan via the donut sponge washer
- where the soil pipe fits to the toilet at the back.

You say it is intermittent so it is unlkely to be the cold feed in as it would be all the time.

I cant imagine you cant see the exit to the soil pipe so I would assume it is where the cistern sits on the pan, in which case you will have to drain it down and refit.

It's much more likely that the pan connector isn't.

I would suggest a telescopic one with this design of pan. They are a pain!!

I had one like that from Bathstore. I had to lift the whole thing ... pan and cistern together connected to a flexi cold supply and ease it on to the waste. Not easy at all!
