LOW PRESSURE ELECTRIC SHOWER

by johnj25176 » Wed Feb 13, 2008 9:10 am

Without warning, the low pressure light is lit up on my mira electric shower. I tried cleaning the shower head etc, opening up the water a bit next to the tank in the cupboard but still not the slightest trickle out of the shower. Does the whole thing need replaced or is there something im missing?

there should be a filter in the actual shower body, try cleaning/removing this and then see if it works. remember to isolate shower first though!

I fixed just such a problem yesterday.

My shower has a tiny filter screen on the inlet pipe to the shower. It fits inside the pipe and looks like a bronze wire-mesh dome. It was clogged up with a white gunge.

I had to take the shower off the wall to get at the filter. I could remove a small section of the pipe work before the pressure sensor and rinsed this bit clean. A pity the designer didn't make this easier to get at!
