Getting Air into system regularly !!

by gazzaman » Sat Feb 16, 2008 11:57 pm

Hi,
when I first moved house I had some problems with cold radiators downstairs.
cured this by releasing an air lock then balancing system.
after 5 months I now find I'm getting air in the system regularly !!
having to bleed one radiator once a week !! ( first in supply line ?)
pump is noisy occassionally, tried bleeding this from the front screw,
works for a while ! tried tightening all radiator connections and pump pipe fittings.
but now 1 downstairs rad dont warm up although supply pipe is hot and main rad in lounge only getting warm not hot !!
Has the pump finally failed and sucking in air ??
where is this air coming from ?
thanks in advance !!

Check feed and expansion tank in loft.

Is there water in it?

Is ball valve free and working?

Pump may be drawing air down feed and/or expansion pipes!!!
