neighbours shower sounds like it's happening in our room

Our neighbour has installed a ensuite shower. This was never discussed as something that was going to happen. Our problem is that the shower is so loud that it actually sounds like water running down our bedroom wall. Is there anything we can do to soundproof this or get the neighbour to soundproof. The noise is so loud it actualy wakes us up.

Your nieghbour has no legal duty under the b regs to soundproof the wall unless the en suite was entended into a previously non habitable area such as the roof void. Your only choice would be to sound proof from your side which would involve a new independant plasterboard skin or wall. There are many proprietry systems if you look on the net. Sorry it's down to you unless your nieghbour is very reasonable!
