Electronic pest control

by James Nuthall » Wed Mar 05, 2008 5:20 pm

I wish to purchase two electrical appliances/devices. The first to annoy mice in the loft space and the second to stop dog barking. How can I be sure that the frequencies produced by these products will not also annoy both bats and owls?

Unless it says on the tin "doesn't affect bats and owls" I suspect you can't.

Do you have either bats or owls in your roofspace? If not the question seems just a bit moot and in any event I think just annoying the little blighters might be counterproductive.

Puts some proper traps down up there.

As for dogs - do you not have a fence?

Cheers

Thank you. There are mice in the roof space but also, in some years, bats. Not every year but I am pleased to see them catching insects outside when they are there. The dog belongs to an adjacent neighbour the other side of a dip along which owls sometimes fly on the lookout for food. An odd situation perhaps but yes, bats and owles are around.
