Clearing out a bridged cavity

by Jim A » Sat Mar 22, 2008 9:27 am

Can anyone advise on the best way to clear out a bridged cavity?. Should you remove just one brick from the external wall at a time, or is it ok to remove several, to give better access?.

remove one miss say two then remove another. do this to say a two meter section at a time and replace bricks before moving on.

Thanks tucny!. When you say about 2 metres, do you mean 2 square metres ie. remove the bricks bith horizontally and vertically?

horizontally, say the second course above the dpc. Im assuming that you want to make sure there isnt any debris in the cavity that could bridge the dpc?
