Someone installed a twin slot shelving system in my flat to use as bookshelves. He used 15 mm furniture board for shelves, so now the shelves are beggining to warp even in the places where the uprights are 50 cm apart. I was wondering whether I could use hollow core floating shelves like the ones sold in Wickes and B&Q as a replacement to the furniture board (and reposition the uprights) as they are cheap and light weight? Cheap and light are important.

Hi Caroland,
If you want a cheap option turn the existing shelves over, the bow will eventually correct itself.
